Our Cookhouse

The Cookhouse at Sawtooth Plantation is where our guests enjoy our famous hand made meals prepared by Leola Rogers “Miss Dot”. Miss Dot widely known around the south as one of the finest southern cooks in the Southeast.  Guests help themselves to a fully stocked complimentary bar adorned with the finest bourbons, liquors and selection of craft beers. The Cookhouse is also home to a ping pong room as well as the famous fire pit, antique poker table, large flat screen on the porch, 2 large inside fireplaces, 2 large flat screen tvs, and our hand crafted dining table for up to 25 guests.

Cabin 1 – Includes 1 queen bed and full service bathroom

Cabin 2 – Includes 2 twin beds and full service bathroom

Cabin 3 – Includes 2 sets of bunk beds (total 4 beds) and full service bathroom

Cabin 4 – Includes 1 queen bed and full service bathroom

Cabin 5 – Includes 2 bedrooms with 1 full bed with twin bed on top (each), den (with set of bunk beds), fireplace, and full service bathroom

Loft Apartment – Includes 1 queen bed, couch, sitting area, and full service bathroom

Cooking Lessons – The cooking lessons at Sawtooth feature Southern Cooking techniques from Miss Dot. She is famous in these parts and even has a fast casual restaurant brand named after her. From her famous fried chicken, collard greens, apple and pecan pies learn many more of her secret recipes and techniques including canning. The next day you will learn many wild game techniques from John Cassimus our owner and restaurateur. Techniques learned with John will include aging meat, preparation, cooking methods as well as full meal preparation. John will also share many vegetable roasting secrets as well as creating salad dressing recipes from scratch, appetizers and other healthy yet hearty meals in less 30 minutes. If you have an interest in cooking but have little or no experience these classes will not intimidate you. We adjust each class based on the participants.

Cycling – Sawtooth is located in the perfect location for epic road, mountain and gravel rides. Sawtooth is the perfect location for groups of riders who want to experience multiple riding opportunities. From Road to Gravel we offer fully supported rides for your group. That means we have a vehicle follow you while on your ride and have spare parts as well as food and drinks for each rider. We customize your rides based on rider level and the number of hours you would like to ride. Wetake pride in the level of detail we put into your riding program. We also have partnered with Vision Quest Coaching out of Chicago and can provide professional coaching camps for you as well. If you are visiting us for a hunting trip and would like to get a few rides in during your down time we can accommodate you with or without a guide. With advance notice we also offer massage services after you complete your ride.

Yoga Classes – With advance notice we offer yoga classes for our guests. There are multiple outdoor locations like our elevated deck over looking a beautiful field, lakeside on grass or dock and our small studio fitness room.

Massages – Sawtooth can arrange massages for our guests with advance notice. We have several licensed massage therapist who specialize in all types of massage techniques.
